This year's good causes
Once again we are raising money for Kilve Cricket Club whose support and picturesque ground by the sea makes Kilve Stock & Barrel possible again in 2025.
Kilve Cricket Club, a very friendly, inclusive & successful club, is set in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, amongst the Quantock Hills and with the famous Kilve Beach only a stones throw away.
The Saturday XI currently play their cricket in West Somerset Division
They are a highly social and friendly Club, who actively encourage new Members and visiting cricket enthusiasts & supporters!
Members of the club will be helping to event to run smoothly over the weekend.
Tropiquaria is in a unique setting on the edges of Exmoor and the Quantocks, close by the sea.
It is a small zoo based in and around an old "Art Deco" BBC Radio Transmitter station. This Grade II Listed building houses the Reptile Hall, Nocturnal House and Aquarium. The grounds house the outdoor collection
They are also an animal sanctuary and work closely with the RSPCA and other exotic wildlife organisations, to help rescue and rehome animals.
The extreme high winds from Storm Darragh in December 2024, brought down numerous trees and damaged several enclosures, which closed the zoo down for several days. Adding this to the lost revenue from the COVID pandemic, the cost of living crisis, and their fuel bills quadrupling, we felt that we had to try and help.
Rusty Road 2 Recovery is CIC social enterprise, non-profit organisation based in Bridgwater Somerset, whose primary objective is to help people suffering with mental health issues, back on the road to recovery and well-being through creative art therapy workshops and classic car restoration. Our venture is unlike others, people do not need a GP referral. This alleviates pressure and reduces bureaucracy, speeding up access to recovery.
Rusty Road 2 Recovery run several types of workshops, all run by volunteers, including teamwork and confidence building. There is an affordable ‘Lunch Club’ where people can get a hot meal for £2, ensuring that they have a good meal and helping to combat social isolation by eating with others.
They have been helping people with their mental health since 2018. With spiralling costs, it is becoming harder and harder to help the ever-increasing number of people who need help.
