Our Friend Ali
Ali Davison was a part of Kilve life for so many in the village. He and Mel were paid up members of the Pardlestoners crazy gang and the life and soul of any gathering.
Ali suffered from Familial Alzheimer's disease (FAD), an inherited form of Alzheimer's disease. It accounts for less than 1% of Alzheimer's disease cases overall. Any form of dementia is cruel but FAD is particularly so as sufferers present symptoms in their 30s, 40s and 50s - the prime of life.
Whilst dealing with this dreadful disease Ali spent time at Rusty Road 2 Recovery in Bridgwater and it is in Ali's memory that we are aiming for a thumping profit from Kilve Stock & Barrel 2025 so their service can benefit others.
Ali loved spending time at Rusty Road so much. A place where he felt valued and included.
Sadly, Ali passed away last summer, aged 52, leaving Mel, his girls and his wide circle of friends mourning his loss to this awful disease but celebrating our luck of having had Ali in our lives.
Ali would have loved Kilve Stock & Barrel and his impish humour and zany streak would have added so much to the event.
So when you are enjoying the music, pause for a moment, raise a glass and toast Our Friend Ali.
